HBO has achieved massive recognition for offering very high quality original programming to its audience. HBO adapts a subscription-only service and does not carry normal commercials so it helps HBO in allowing explicit themes such as violence, sex and vulgarity in the contents. Eventually HBO is known for airing original programming apart from theatrical films and ironically most of these programs contain huge sum of sacrilege and objectionable contents in compare to other movie channels.

Specifically, HBO was the first movie channel which grabbed the special rights for Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones from Fox and aired the movie without first giving it a pay-per-view cable release. Apart from this, HBO also has pay-cable rights to its sequel, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of The Sith.

HBO procures exclusive licensing rights from major Hollywood studios including Columbia TriStar, NBC Universal, Paramount, DreamWorks and Warner Bros for the newest and prime time blockbuster movies and air them on its broad network in Asia. On its Sunday prime time slot, HBO airs the latest and biggest Hollywood blockbusters as movie premiere and every Monday night is fixed for award-winning and original HBO Series that incite and entertain the viewers.
