ABC: Shark Tank Review…It’s A Hit!
Thanks to Bob Murphy http://bit.ly/rzhuI for this excellent review of “Shark Tank on ABC”. I must admit that my personal view of the show has been a great comparison to that of the BBC America version of Dragons Den…and I loved it. If you are interested in investment, then this is your show!
Swimming with the fishes can sometimes be fun and relaxing. But this summer ABC has taken that peaceful concept and is now throwing people into the Shark Tank.
The Premise
Every Sunday, inventors and business owners and some wanna-bes enter the room known as the Shark Tank attempting to hock their wares to the high profile investors known as The Sharks. The Sharks (Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O’Leary, Daymond, John, Kevin Harrington, and Robert Herjavek) attack each pitch person, grilling them, sometimes excessively, with questions designed to elicit the information that would make them want to invest or, in some cases, outright buy the product or company.
Criticism
The show has come under some criticism because often the Sharks will make fun of or criticize an idea or the person who refused an offer or who had a bizarre and entirely impractical idea. In the second episode of the show, for example, O’Leary and the other Sharks broke out laughing in response to a pitch in Episode 102 by Mary Ellen Simonsen for $500000 to develop her laptop sticky note fold-down holder. Cracking jokes nearly the entire time, the Sharks made fun of how she has “created a sticky pad for sticky pads.”
Business Tips Gleaned from Watching
This show is a must watch for those interested in taking their business to the next level, acquiring investors for their products or inventing and selling their own products. The show has not only entertainment value, but business value as well. The criticisms are unfounded when one takes into consideration that the Sharks often do share secrets or little known facts about getting into business. For example, on the second show of the season, O’Leary asked one business person, the co-creator of an apparel line, if he’d attempted to sell his wares at trade shows and if he has any standing orders. This information can be crucial for those who have ideas or products they wish to sell and may not know how best to go about it.
Dharma’s Karma Is Shifting On Lost
Of all the TV Shows available to watch on the abc chanel I always make sure to tune in to the Lost Series every Wednesday @ 9/8c. Since 2004 it has been an addictive program to watch that just keeps becoming more intriguing as it proceeds in its syndication. This popular TV show involves mystery and the supernatural. Its ubiquity makes it cutting edge to discover just how all the pieces will fit together with every new episode. Television programs have been unable to compete with its unique and tantalizing simple and sci-fi-esque flavor. A plane crashed in 2004 in the South Pacific. The survivors forged onward and discovered many strange things and people. Scary smoke monsters and wild polar bears inhabited the island as well as people called “The Others” and bunkers from a group called the “Dharma Initiative.”
For One hundred and eight days the survivors of a plane crash inhabited a deserted island between Sydney Australia and L.A. Then, one of them turned a wheel as well as their destinies upside down and inside out. Locke along with all but six people (Sawyer, Jack, Hurley, Kate, Juliet and Jin) remained in current time. The six others somehow ended up in the year 1977 to see that their companions disappeared along with the island. They were rescued and brought back to the U.S. but then took a plane back out to find the island again. The plane crashed and they found the isle full of Hostiles. Sawyer became head of security for the Dharma Initiative and changed his name to LaFleur. He snuck Hurley, Jack and Kate into the Dharma compound while Jin ran off to find Sun. It’s been three years since Sawyer a.k.a. LaFleur, Juliet, Miles and Jin have been working for the Dharma Initiative. The people left in current time are extremely confused.
Ben snuck off to find boats to get to the other island. Sun follows along with Lapidus. They knock out Ben and take a boat to the other isle and run into a man named Christian who they find out is Jack’s Dad. He shows them what happened to the six others in a photo from the Dharma Recruits in 1977. Meanwhile, Jin is off in 1977 looking for Sun. He runs into Sayid while searching for Hostiles. Sayid gets thrown into their jail where he runs into a boy who says his name is Ben Linus. It’s becoming more aggressive as everyone in the 70s who has come from the future is seemingly looking out only for themselves. The relationship of survivor vs. survivor is growing increasingly acute and violent in some circumstances. The Lost TV program is exquisitely detailed and crafted and remains one of the most popular running shows in current history.
Grey’s Anatomy Intensive Care Is Drama At Its Best
Grey’s Anatomy is a heart-wrenching abc channel program as well as one of the most sensational Drama Shows. It was topped off yet again on TV March 19th when Christina (Sandra Oh) approached Izzie (Katherine Heigl) after her disclosure about Izzie’s health conditions to Alex, (Miranda) Bailey, George and Meredith. An emotionally tense moment ensued when Christina encouraged Izzie to fight and not give up and was impeccably portrayed as Izzie graciously yet fiercely thanked Christina for her concern. The look on Christina’s face was marked with a dismal tone and Izzie was scared and lost, thinking about her fate. Christina sweetly reached out to Izzie and held her hand as Izzie stared off into the distance.
This story continues on Thursday March 26th @ 9/8c in the cancer wing of Seattle Grace Hospital. Izzie is prepped for her many surgeries and procedures that will be taking place as well as informed by the staff of exactly what is going to happen and when. Miranda (Chandra Wilson) speaks to Christina, Meredith and Alex in the hallway about how important it is that the three of them are truly there for Izzie as her friends. Izzie has a stage four Metastatic Melanoma, a liver problem, and a temporal lobe brain lesion. She is told that her eggs will be harvested before she undergoes any radiation therapy as well as that chemotherapy is necessary, aggressively. Dr. Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) is ready to do her upcoming surgery on the temporal lobe lesion and can remove all of it, pending upon if the margins are clear.
Izzie has four weeks to have three surgeries as well as seven outpatient procedures done. This nail-biting program keeps growing in its fervor and tribulations considerately as well as competently. Chief resident Bailey’s finesse is to be admired and her strength shines as she attempts to balance her personal and professional life. Alex (Justin Chambers), George (T.R. Knight), and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) each continue to skillfully ascend in their residencies. With interns to mentor, their routines include assisting Meredith’s half-sister Lexie. George (after his divorce with Callie and breakup with Izzie) is Lexie’s roommate and just recently failed his residency test by only a point.
Alex has had plenty on his plate as well. On his own he attended to his girlfriend’s mental instability as well as his mother’s. Alex and Izzie were getting closer as well. But when all is said and done, what will become of Izzie Stevens and Alex Karev? And what will happen between McDreamy and Meredith? Will Izzie survive the havoc that is attacking her body? Will Meredith’s therapy be enough to keep her gravitated by Dr. Shepherd’s love as they fluctuate between the highs and lows of a committed relationship? And what of Chief of Surgery Richard Webber resuming his relationship with his ex-wife Adele? These doctors deal with every shade of grey in reality (as they also do as Celebrities). In one another they find the comfort, love and friendship that they need to survive. Grey’s Anatomy is in its fifth outstanding season.

If you love TV then your going to love what you have to look forward to this summer as far as television shows, movies and mini series goes. How about comedy movies? Maybe your really into scientific type mini-series because you don’t have the time for a full on show schedule? Starring Colin Morgan as Merlin, Bradley James as Prince Arthur, Anthony Head as King Uther, Richard Wilson as Gaius, Katie McGrath as Morgana and Angel Coulby as Gwen, “Merlin” is an imaginative new twist on a legend that is as old as time.
“The Listener” centers on Toby Logan (Craig Olejnik, “The Timekeeper”), a 25-year-old paramedic who has a big secret — he’s a telepath. Until now, Toby kept his ability hidden, exploring its possibilities only with his long time mentor and confidant, Dr. Ray Mercer (Colm Feore, “24: Redemption”). As he makes the rounds with his energetic paramedic partner — “Oz” Bey (Ennis Esmer, “Young People F*#king”), “The Listener” follows Toby as he tries to help people in crisis, and in the process, unravel the truth about his past. While his professional life is in check, Toby’s personal life could use its own rescue. And with the help of Detective Charlie Marks (Lisa Marcos, “Diary of a Mad Black Woman”) and his E.R. doctor/ex-girlfriend Olivia Fawcett (Mylne Dinh-Robic, “Da Vinci’s City Hall”), Toby realizes his gift can help others.
One of the greatest artists of all time, the legacy of Leonardo daVinci (1452-1519) includes some of the most well-known paintings ever made. But daVinci’s talent exceeded far beyond painting - he was also a successful architect and engineer, and his drawings of military weapons have been highly regarded and studied for nearly 500 years. These drawings capture exceptionally engineered weapons unlike anything that had been developed at the time they were created, yet there is no record that these designs were ever constructed … until now. Discovery Channel’s six-part world premiere original series, DOING DAVINCI, puts a team of 21st century builders, engineers and historians together to take on one of history’s greatest minds as they attempt to build daVinci’s weapons once and for all. The series premieres Mondays at 10PM ET/PT beginning April 13.
In “Meteor,” two massive rocks, tumbling debris older than the solar system itself, collide in space. The course has been altered. The target is Earth. In a remote observatory, Dr. Lehman (Emmy winner Christopher Lloyd, “Back to the Future”), discovers a meteor approximately three times the size of Mount Everest barreling its way towards Earth. His devoted young assistant Imogene O’Neill (Marla Sokoloff, “The Practice”) feverishly types in the coordinates only to find the previously identified meteor named Kassandra is headed their way. It’s only the beginning of their troubles as showers of smaller meteorites begin to lay waste to major cities around the globe. The impending disaster brings out the best and the worst sides in people as they cope by either lending a helping hand or taking advantage of the situation.
Who and What Did You Watch On TV?
ABC Television Com has plenty of info on many quality programs. The Lost Series (Wednesdays 9/8c) is just one of many shows on ABC that is likable. This show grows in intensity with each episode and always has something new to offer for your viewing pleasure. Island castaways deep in the South Pacific continue persisting in their agendas to find a way off the island and back to society. After their jet crashed on the way from Sydney, Australia to L.A., this drama has been steeped in strangeness and wonder. The Lost crew includes Naveen Andrews (Sayid), an Iraqi veteran, rogue Evangeline Lilly (Kate), simple Jorge Garcia (Hurley), sexy yet hate-able Josh Holloway (Sawyer), lovely Emilie De Ravin (Claire), and beloved leader Matthew Fox (Jack). Mother-to-be Yunjin Kim (Sun), ex-musician Dominic Monaghan (Charlie), islander Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet), boat wreckage survivor Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond), father-to-be Daniel Dae Kim (Jin), enemy Michael Emerson (Ben), and the unique Terry O’Quinn (Locke) also invest their talents.
If you prefer real life action, perhaps you might like ‘Homeland Security USA’ which targets America’s borders as well as the Department of Homeland Security to give us a gander into the work that they do and the technology that is used in law enforcement to keep our country safe. This series takes cameras into never seen before areas and situations creating a powerful portrayal of unforgettable moments in history that are dramatic, emotional and sometimes humorous. It includes everything from checking visitors’ passports to vetting adoption papers. They intercept undocumented immigrants, drugs and various contraband from coming into our country as well as potential terrorists attempting to cross our borders. Maybe you enjoy watching the massively popular ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ which follows Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and her sister Chyler Leigh (Lexie) at Seattle Grace Hospital. Katherine Heigl (”Izzie”), Sandra Oh (Cristina), Sara Ramirez (Callie), Chandra Wilson (Miranda), Patrick Dempsey (Dr. Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd), Justin Chambers (Alex), T.R. Knight (George), James Pickens, Jr. (Richard), Eric Dane (Mark “McSteamy” Sloan), and Kevin McKidd (Owen) are hospital co-workers who have many interesting relationships.
If you’re not a Grey’s regular, it’s on Thursdays @ 9/8c. ‘Private Practice’, a spin-off of character Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery is on afterwards (Thursday 10/9c.) Kate Walsh returns as a resident surgeon along with a hot mess of diverse staff that work at Oceanside Wellness Center in Santa Monica, CA. Dr. Charlotte King (actress KaDee Strickland), Dr. Sam Bennett (actor Taye Diggs), and Dr. Cooper Freedman (actor Paul Adelstein) round out the medical faculty as does Dr. Violet Turner (actress Amy Brenneman) , Dr. Pete Wilder (actor Tim Daly) , Dr. Naomi Bennett (actress Audra McDonald), and William Dell Parker (actor Chris Lowell). There are so many abc com tv shows that are worth previewing and investigating and it saves your time, energy and money to think ahead and research them while you have a few moments to spare.
Tip Top Entertainment On ABC
The ABC channel has always been one of my favorites for getting tidbits of gossip about all of the Hollywood elite as well as upcoming stars. ABC 24 hours a day seven days a week hosts plenty of entertainment industry news shows and various snippets of media frenzy. The good, bad and ugly are magnified scrupulously. I like watching Entertainment Tonight whenever I can because Mary Hart and Mark Steines create a media infused hot mess of drama as well as follow up on stars and their stories along with their many co-correspondents. E.T. is the most watched entertainment news program worldwide and has gathered great acclaim to make it one of the best news-magazines in the entire world. They always have the inside scoop on what is going on and provide a ton of info on TV shows, movie blockbuster premiere information, vocalists, musicians, actors and actresses. The trendsetters and misfits alike are focused on, providing glimpses into modeling and the fashion designing arena.
I keep tabs also by watching Access Hollywood. Hosted by Nancy O’Dell and Billy Bush, this show provides exposures, fashion hits and misses and provides the latest juicy gossip. TV, movies and music are all totally covered by this program. Access Hollywood’s famous correspondents Maria Menounos, Tony Potts, and Shaun Robinson are always covering every aspect of the entertainment world. Whether it’s about DJ AM, Tyra Banks, Kelly Clarkson, Victoria Beckham, J-Lo or Steve-O, they’ve always got the goods on everyone in H-town! Fashion and fame are always at the center of attention with every special, in-depth breaking news story. The View is another candid infusion of pop culture that I enjoy watching. Weekdays at 11am/10c, these women laugh and chat with plenty of spectacular guests.
The ethereal magnetism of Barbara Walters, blunt honesty of Whoopi Goldberg, the sweetly endearing Sherri Shepherd, straight up notes of Elisabeth Hasselbeck and the camaraderie of Joy Behar mix up into a concoction of delight. Weeknights at 12:05/11:05c, Jimmy Kimmel Live keeps me howling and has a vivacious cast as well as superbly crafted hilarious interviews and new and old musical guests. With ABC’s entertainment show line up there’s always something to reminisce about and share with my friends later or snicker about when I’m reminded of a joke or funny coincidence. It helps pass the time at work sometimes to tell a joke or two and Jimmy’s show has a deviously impeccable array that make the day go by a lot faster. These shows all provide a high quality experience of the entertainment industry as well as a healthy dose of laughter. Why not watch yourself and see why so many are hooked on ABC for their professional yet zany and ingenious programs?
Lost Grows Onward In Its Depths
Ever since 2004, Lost has gained a cult like following and grows even more intense in its exploration of humanity and the supernatural. Out of abc com tv shows it has been one of my favorites to follow. The Lost series began with a horrific commercial jetliner crash on a deserted island of oblivious proportions. Cast away somewhere deep in the South Pacific, every Wednesday at 9/8c the masses have followed the survivors of a group that was en route from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles, California. These rogues have been forced to make a living amongst eerie phenomenon and the mundane alike ever since their unfortunate landing mishap stranded them on a beach in the middle of nowhere. Mystery and danger haunt their every step just as secrets and lies threaten to destroy and separate them. Their determinations and relationships to each other conquer and divide many within the group.
The characters struggle onward persisting in their efforts and have encountered polar bears, an odd smoke monster and many strangers along their paths, including island residents better known as “The Others.” They’ve also found unusual bunkers belonging to a group of reclusive scientific researchers called the Dharma Initiative, an ancient statue and a 19th century sailing vessel called “The Black Rock”. The pioneers include the largely admired Jorge Garcia (Hurley), primary leader Matthew Fox (Jack), uniquely transformed Terry O’Quinn (Locke), shipwrecked survivor Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond), Japanese speaking Daniel Dae Kim (Jin), Iraqi veteran Naveen Andrews (Sayid), salty yet sweet Josh Holloway (Sawyer), Other harbored Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet), eclectic musician Dominic Monaghan (Charlie), strong yet sullen Evangeline Lilly (Kate), innocuous mother Emilie De Ravin (Claire), anti-hero Michael Emerson (Ben), as well as bilingual mother-to-be Yunjin Kim (Sun).
They succeed and fail at each mission and weave into the strange jungle in order to try to find a way off the island and back to society. Through thick and thin, rise and shine, storms and pain, this abandoned hot mess sticks together despite their personal agendas creating a phenomenal portrayal of chaos and order. Numerous industry awards, including Best American Import at the British Academy Television Awards (2005), the Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series (2005), the Golden Globe for Best Drama (2006), along with a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series has topped off almost six seasons of tropical bliss. In 2010, Lost will be in its final year of production. This popular and invigorating show keeps you on your toes to the edge of reason. The 2009 TV season will be exquisitely piqued by its presence. It began with a big bang as well as plenty of drama. It will be extreme to find out what will become of our beloved crew.
Box Office Stars Star On ABC TV
ABC is a very popular TV station. It’s no wonder plenty of their programs and movies star Box Office veterans. These film mavericks also play in sitcoms, comedies, sci-fi shows and ABC original movies. ‘Just Like Heaven’ starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo is one of the newest films that ABC has personally produced that will air on Saturday, March 28th @ 8/7c. On ABC Com you can find out all about different shows and movies in detail, as well as about every actor and actress in bios. In the 2009 tv season, there are so many diverse shows to watch that are new and many series that are too interesting not to be followed up with. ABC’s schedule can be accessed as well as free episodes to determine what programming is available and to find out what shows are on and when. One of the funniest sitcoms on ABC is ‘According To Jim’ which stars Jim Belushi (Mr. Destiny, K-9, Homer and Eddie) returning with new episodes on Tuesday March 24th at 8/7c.
‘Brothers & Sisters’ (Sundays 10/9c) stars Rob Lowe (Tommy Boy, Austin Powers) and Balthazar Getty (Ladder 49, Lord of the Flies), and follows the Walker family through a chaotic portrayal of modern American life. A compelling drama series, ‘Brothers & Sisters’ is about five close-knit yet somewhat damaged adult siblings and their passionately devoted and strong mother, Nora Walker (Sally Field). ‘Samantha Who?’ (returning with fresh episodes on Thursday March 26th @ 8:30/7:30c) stars the bright and charming Christina Applegate (The Sweetest Thing, Surviving Christmas) as Samantha Newly, who awoke from an 8-day coma with retrograde amnesia who has to reboot her entire life and change herself from the egocentric, horrible person she found out that she had been prior to a hit-and-run accident into a person who truly cares about others to transform former enemies into friends. ‘Life on Mars’ (Wednesdays 10/9c) stars Harvey Keitel (The Ministers, Reservoir Dogs, Little Nicky), Michael Imperioli (The Lovely Bones, The Lovebirds), Gretchen Mol (An American Affair, 3:10 to Yuma).
As well as its main character Sam Tyler (Jason O’Mara of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’,'In Justice’, and ‘Men in Trees’) who is an NYPD Detective. Sam was hurtled backwards in time to 1973 after a freak hit-and-run car accident left him far behind in the cultural hot mess of New York City. Without his cell phone, PDA, computer or MP3 player technology to help him along from 2008, he doesn’t understand what exactly happened that made him travel in time. He teams up with the others at the 125th Precinct to powerfully eradicate crime and live out his life as best as possible while striving to remain a top detective, desperately attempting to get “home.” All of ABC’s programming is greatly entertaining and there are many more shows to choose from. Why not take some time out to read all about it?

Lying in a hospital bed, under the influence of morphine, he develops a belief in the concept of karma when he hears about it during an episode of Last Call with Carson Daly. He decides he wants to turn his life around and makes a list of all the bad things he’s ever done. After doing his first good deed, he finds his $100,000 lottery ticket. He sees this as a sign and, with his new lucky money, he proceeds to cross items off the list, one by one, by doing good deeds to atone for them.
Kath & Kim is a Logie Award-winning character-driven Australian television comedy series, created by Jane Turner and Gina Riley. The series revolves around the family matters and relationships of the title characters, a dysfunctional mother and daughter. She deals with her spoilt, ever complaining, 20-something daughter Kim Craig; Kim’s unlucky, sports obsessed second best friend Sharon Strzelecki; Kim’s estranged husband Brett Craig; and their baby daughter Epponnee Rae Craig. The series is set in the fictional suburb of Fountain Lakes, in Melbourne, Victoria, but is primarily filmed in and around areas of Patterson Lakes, Melbourne.
The Office is an Emmy-Award winning American television sitcom airing on NBC and developed by Greg Daniels. It is an American adaptation of the BBC series with the same name and depicts the everyday lives of office employees in the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Unlike many American sitcoms, The Office is shot in a single-camera setup, without a studio audience or a laugh track, and is made in the form of a documentary. Although fictional and scripted, the presence of the camera is openly acknowledged by the series’ characters.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is an American crime drama television series. CSI premiered on CBS on October 6th, 2000. Flashpoint is about the dramatic portrayal of an elite tactical unit, called the Strategic Response Unit (SRU), within a Canadian metropolitan police force (styled on the Toronto Police Emergency Task Force, Toronto being where the series is filmed). The SRU are tasked to resolve extreme situations that regular officers cannot handle including hostage-taking, bomb threats and heavily armed criminals. Even though they’re backed with high-tech equipment with an arsenal of explosives, tasers, sub-machine guns, assault and sniper rifles, the SRU operators use intuition and judgement to resolve the situation.
The Mentalist is an American crime procedural television series which debuted on September 23, 2008 on CBS. Golden Globe Award nominee Simon Baker stars as Patrick Jane, an independent consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), who has a remarkable track record for solving serious crimes by using his razor sharp skills of observation. He also makes frequent use of his mentalist abilities to lead witnesses or offenders into offering the actual facts of the case, as known only to them. Within the Bureau, Jane is notorious for his blatant lack of protocol and his semi-celebrity past as a psychic medium, whose paranormal abilities he now admits he feigned. Jane’s role in cracking a series of tough high-profile cases is greatly valued by his fellow agents.
