The Big Bang Theory: Hit TV Show With Wholesome and Nerdy Entertainment
The hit tv show, “Big Bang Theory” portrays two hyper-intelligent and ultra geeky physicists, come room mates (Leonard and Sheldon) and what happens when an young charming woman (Penny) moves to the apartment next door. The really geeky nerds live in the highest of high-tech environments and are oblivious to anyone or thing around them.
Penny is absolutely pragmatic and down to earth. The tv show portrays the two extreme ends of the spectrum, book smarts and social smarts. It is more fun to see the two nerds have even nerdier friends and colleagues (Howard and Rajesh).
The characterization of each one is superb. Leonard does not like to be seen as a nerd. He tries to impress Penny by trying to convince that he is not actually a nerd. But he miserably fails each time, leaving us all in laughter. Sheldon is brilliant in laboratory but totally inane out of it. He shows stubbornness, bombastic ego and quirks which are admirable. Penny is extremely practical and lives on the “real world”. Howard thinks himself he is as sexy as he is brainy. His sincere attempts to impress penny goes in vain. Rajesh, yet another genius suffers from an inability to speak in the presence of a woman.
Overall, the cast is solid at turning trivial topic such as science into an enjoyable sitcom. It is amazing to notice that even particle physics and string theory could be funny. The timing is excellent. A very good aspect of this show is that geeks are lovable and funny and human, not pathetic. The “chemistry” between the physicists is fabulous. The dynamics and the dialog between the four friends is fast paced, funny and rich with detailed observations. The jokes are delivered with dry humor which makes it even more hilarious!
If you get time, this comedy show is worth a first look. On my rating scale I give it 3.5 of 5 stars.
Who and What Did You Watch On TV?
ABC Television Com has plenty of info on many quality programs. The Lost Series (Wednesdays 9/8c) is just one of many shows on ABC that is likable. This show grows in intensity with each episode and always has something new to offer for your viewing pleasure. Island castaways deep in the South Pacific continue persisting in their agendas to find a way off the island and back to society. After their jet crashed on the way from Sydney, Australia to L.A., this drama has been steeped in strangeness and wonder. The Lost crew includes Naveen Andrews (Sayid), an Iraqi veteran, rogue Evangeline Lilly (Kate), simple Jorge Garcia (Hurley), sexy yet hate-able Josh Holloway (Sawyer), lovely Emilie De Ravin (Claire), and beloved leader Matthew Fox (Jack). Mother-to-be Yunjin Kim (Sun), ex-musician Dominic Monaghan (Charlie), islander Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet), boat wreckage survivor Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond), father-to-be Daniel Dae Kim (Jin), enemy Michael Emerson (Ben), and the unique Terry O’Quinn (Locke) also invest their talents.
If you prefer real life action, perhaps you might like ‘Homeland Security USA’ which targets America’s borders as well as the Department of Homeland Security to give us a gander into the work that they do and the technology that is used in law enforcement to keep our country safe. This series takes cameras into never seen before areas and situations creating a powerful portrayal of unforgettable moments in history that are dramatic, emotional and sometimes humorous. It includes everything from checking visitors’ passports to vetting adoption papers. They intercept undocumented immigrants, drugs and various contraband from coming into our country as well as potential terrorists attempting to cross our borders. Maybe you enjoy watching the massively popular ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ which follows Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and her sister Chyler Leigh (Lexie) at Seattle Grace Hospital. Katherine Heigl (”Izzie”), Sandra Oh (Cristina), Sara Ramirez (Callie), Chandra Wilson (Miranda), Patrick Dempsey (Dr. Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd), Justin Chambers (Alex), T.R. Knight (George), James Pickens, Jr. (Richard), Eric Dane (Mark “McSteamy” Sloan), and Kevin McKidd (Owen) are hospital co-workers who have many interesting relationships.
If you’re not a Grey’s regular, it’s on Thursdays @ 9/8c. ‘Private Practice’, a spin-off of character Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery is on afterwards (Thursday 10/9c.) Kate Walsh returns as a resident surgeon along with a hot mess of diverse staff that work at Oceanside Wellness Center in Santa Monica, CA. Dr. Charlotte King (actress KaDee Strickland), Dr. Sam Bennett (actor Taye Diggs), and Dr. Cooper Freedman (actor Paul Adelstein) round out the medical faculty as does Dr. Violet Turner (actress Amy Brenneman) , Dr. Pete Wilder (actor Tim Daly) , Dr. Naomi Bennett (actress Audra McDonald), and William Dell Parker (actor Chris Lowell). There are so many abc com tv shows that are worth previewing and investigating and it saves your time, energy and money to think ahead and research them while you have a few moments to spare.
Where Is My Favorite TV Show At?
For a lot of us - TV shows are like important appointments. We usually don’t forget them unless something more important comes along. So in the case of the missing TV show you might be wondering if it got discontinued or if you really forgot all about it! In a lot of cases shows do get canceled. And yes, it does stink. But hey what are going to do? Call the TV channel? Put out a petition? That’s a no go! In a lot of cases your favorite show really may have gotten canceled and there is not a darn thing you can do about it - except latch yourself on to a new show! One thing I would suggest you do is to check out a few blogs for TV schedules. This will allow you to see if your show really did get canceled or if it just switched nights or times. This has happened to me a lot. It happened with CSI and I was dumbfounded as to how a show that awesome could get canceled. Here it just switched its schedule. So searching for your specific schedule would be a really smart thing to do. This one is a little outdated but nonetheless you will get an idea about what these lists look like:
MONDAY
8:00 The Big Bang Theory
8:30 How I Met Your Mother
9:00 Two and a Half Men
9:30 Worst Week
10:00 CSI: Miami
TUESDAY
8:00 NCIS
9:00 The Mentalist
10:00 Without a Trace
WEDNESDAY
8:00 The New Adventures of Old Christine
8:30 Project Gary
9:00 Criminal Minds
10:00 CSI: NY
THURSDAY
8:00 Survivor
9:00 CSI
10:00 The Eleventh Hour
FRIDAY
8:00 Ghost Whisperer
9:00 The Ex List
10:00 Numb3rs
SUNDAY
7:00 60 Minutes
8:00 The Amazing Race
9:00 Cold Case
10:00 The Unit
Another thing I would suggest doing - if you cant find your TV show is to look online and do a search. Chances are if you have a rift over why your show went missing - others will be talking about it as well. In this case you will find a website or wen page that is pretty much guaranteed to have ALL the canceled shows listed on it. So it might look something like this:
Masters Of Illusion (MNT)
Ending after one season, final episode on 5/18/2009
The Middleman (FAM)
Ending after one season, final episode on 9/1/2008
Mind Of Mencia (COM)
Ending after four seasons, final episode on 7/23/2008
Everything should be in alphabetical order, this is the easiest way to find your poor show that did or didn’t get canceled. If after all that you still cant find your show, the very last thing you can do is either visit the network online and look on their speciality TV schedule or just go ahead and email them and ask what happened to your show! They should email you back in a few days, and then you will finally know what happened! Good luck. I hope your show didn’t get canceled because that puts such a damper on things, doesn’t it?!?
